Betting Calculators & Tools

Four betting calculators side by side: odds converter, Asian odds converter, Kelly Criterion and arbitrage, each with example values The four calculators on this page, shown with the same examples used below, from a RM 500 Kelly stake to a RM 37.35 arbitrage profit.

The four calculators below do the math behind the betting decisions that matter most. Use the two odds converters to switch between decimal, fractional, American, and Asian odds formats, the Kelly Criterion calculator to size your stakes, and the arbitrage calculator to check whether odds at two sportsbooks lock in a guaranteed profit. Type into any field and the results update instantly.

Odds Converter

The odds converter switches between the three international odds formats and shows the implied probability behind them. Type a number into any of the four fields and the others update instantly, so you can start from whatever the sportsbook shows you. It is handy on international sites that default to fractional or American odds, and when you read British or American tipsters who quote odds in a format you do not use.

%

In the example, decimal odds of 2.50 equal 3/2 in fractional odds, +150 in American odds, and an implied probability of 40%. An RM 100 bet at these odds wins RM 150 profit, regardless of the format it is written in. The probability field also works the other way: if you think a team has a 50% chance of winning, type 50, and the converter shows the fair odds of 2.00. If the sportsbook offers more than that, the bet has value in your eyes.

  • Decimal: Your total return for every RM 1 staked, including the stake. At 2.50, a RM 100 bet returns RM 250 if it wins.
  • Fractional: The British format, showing profit against stake. 3/2 means you win RM 3 for every RM 2 staked, while favorites show a smaller first number, like 1/2.
  • American: A plus number shows the profit on a RM 100 stake, so +150 wins RM 150. A minus number marks a favorite and shows what you must stake to win RM 100, such as -200.
  • Implied Probability: The chance of winning that the odds suggest, worked out as 1 divided by the decimal odds. At 2.50, that is 40%, and since sportsbook odds include a margin, the true chance is usually a little lower.

Odds Converter: Asian Formats

The odds converter takes one set of odds and shows it in the four formats Malaysian bettors meet most often: decimal, Hong Kong, Indonesian, and Malay. Type the odds you have into the matching box, and the converter fills in the other three. It is most useful when you compare sites, since international sportsbooks usually show decimal odds while Asian sportsbooks often use Malay or Hong Kong odds for the same match. Converting them side by side shows you straight away which site pays more.

In the example above, decimal odds of 2.50 equal 1.50 in Hong Kong, 1.50 in Indonesian, and -0.67 in Malay odds. All four describe exactly the same bet: a RM 100 stake wins RM 150 profit, or RM 250 back in total. The converter only changes how the odds are written, never what they pay, so pick whichever format you read fastest and use the converter whenever a site shows something different.

  • Decimal: Your total return for every RM 1 staked, including the stake itself. At 2.50, a RM 100 bet returns RM 250 if it wins.
  • Hong Kong: Your profit for every RM 1 staked, without the stake, so it is always the decimal odds minus 1. At 1.50, a RM 100 bet wins RM 150 profit.
  • Indonesian: Works like Hong Kong odds when the number is positive, so 1.50 means RM 1.50 profit per RM 1. For favorites, the number turns negative and shows how much you must stake to win RM 1, such as -2.00.
  • Malay: Always between -1.00 and +1.00. A negative number like -0.67 shows how much you risk to win RM 1, so you risk RM 67 to win RM 100, while a positive number is your profit per RM 1 and marks a favorite.

Kelly Criterion Calculator

The Kelly Criterion calculator tells you how much of your bankroll to stake on a bet, based on the odds and how likely you think the bet is to win. It uses the formula from John Kelly's 1956 paper at Bell Labs, which bettors and investors still use widely today. The bigger your edge over the sportsbook, the bigger the stake it recommends. If your edge is zero or negative, the formula says not to bet at all. The calculator is only as good as the win probability you type in, so it suits bettors who make their own estimates from stats and form rather than guessing. Most experienced bettors use half or quarter Kelly, since full Kelly swings hard when an estimate is slightly off.

MYR

5.0%
Edge
10.0%
Break-even probability
50.0%

Take a RM 10,000 bankroll and a bet at odds of 2.00 that you believe wins 55% of the time. The break-even point at those odds is 50%, so your edge is 10%. Full Kelly recommends staking 10% of your bankroll, or RM 1,000. Half Kelly cuts that to 5% (RM 500), and Quarter Kelly to 2.5% (RM 250). Because the calculator works in percentages, the stake grows as your bankroll grows and shrinks after losses, which protects you from going broke on a bad run.

  • Bankroll: The total amount of money you have set aside for betting. The recommended stake is calculated as a share of this number.
  • Odds: The decimal odds the sportsbook offers for your bet. Higher odds need a smaller win chance to break even.
  • Win Probability: Your own estimate of how likely the bet is to win, in percent. This is the most important field, since an estimate that is too high leads straight to stakes that are too big.
  • Kelly Fraction: Choose Full, Half, or Quarter Kelly. Full Kelly grows a bankroll fastest in theory but swings the most, while Half and Quarter Kelly trade a little growth for much smoother results.
  • Recommended Stake: The amount in money to bet, after applying your chosen Kelly fraction. In the example, Half Kelly recommends RM 500.
  • Share of Bankroll: The recommended stake as a percentage of your bankroll, here 5%. This is the number to remember if your bankroll changes.
  • Edge: Your expected profit per bet in percent, based on your win probability and the odds. A 55% chance at odds of 2.00 gives an edge of 10%.
  • Break-even Probability: The win rate you need just to break even at these odds, which is 1 divided by the decimal odds. If your win probability is not above this number, there is no edge and no bet.

Arbitrage Calculator

The arbitrage calculator shows how to split your money across every outcome of an event so you make the same profit whatever happens. It only works when different sportsbooks disagree on the odds enough that the combined implied probabilities add up to less than 100%. Enter the best available odds for each outcome and your total stake, and the calculator tells you exactly how much to place on each side, plus the guaranteed profit. If the odds do not leave room for an arbitrage, the profit shows as zero or negative, and you should not place the bets.

Stake on outcome 2

Return

Profit

Return on stake

In the example, one sportsbook offers 2.10 on outcome 1 and another offers 2.05 on outcome 2. With RM 1,000 in total, the calculator puts RM 493.98 on outcome 1 and RM 506.02 on outcome 2. Whichever side wins, you get back RM 1,037.35, a RM 37.35 profit, or 3.7% on your stake. Before you rely on it, know the risks: odds can move before you place the second bet, sportsbooks often limit accounts that arbitrage regularly, and both bets must settle under the same rules, such as both including or both excluding extra time.

  • Outcomes: The number of possible results in the market. Use 2 outcomes for two-way markets like tennis, Asian handicap, or over/under, and 3 outcomes for markets with a draw, like a football 1X2, which adds a third odds field.
  • Outcome 1: The highest decimal odds you can find for the first result, usually at one sportsbook.
  • Outcome 2: The highest decimal odds for the second result, usually at a different sportsbook. The arbitrage comes from combining the top odds across sites.
  • Total Stake: The total amount you want to spread across all outcomes. The calculator divides it so every outcome pays the same.
  • Stake on Outcome 1: How much to bet on the first result. Here, RM 493.98.
  • Stake on Outcome 2: How much to bet on the second result. Here, RM 506.02, slightly more because its odds are lower.
  • Return: The total amount you get back, whichever outcome wins, including your stakes. Here, RM 1,037.35.
  • Profit: Your guaranteed gain after subtracting the total stake from the return. Here, RM 37.35.
  • Return on Stake: The profit as a percentage of your total stake, here 3.7%. This makes it easy to compare arbitrage chances of different sizes.

Who Writes Our Betting Tips & Predictions

All tips are 100% human-written and selected by our two betting experts, Aariz & Zayn, who have decades of experience in the field.

Meet Our Tipsters: Expertise & Experience

Aariz and Zayn write every tip and prediction on this page, and they publish new ones daily. Together they bring 45 years of betting experience, and both have finished in profit over the last ten years. Neither started out that way: like most bettors, they learned through losing seasons before finding the leagues and markets where they consistently spot value. Both are all-round bettors, but each specializes in different competitions, so every tip comes from someone who follows that league week in and week out. Ten years in profit does not mean every tip wins, and both will tell you that losing weeks are part of betting.

Zayn

Zayn has been betting for 20 years. His early years ended in the red more often than not, and it took a long stretch of trial and error to find the leagues and betting markets that suited him. Over the last decade, those lessons have turned into steady profit.

His main focus is the English Premier League and the Bundesliga, where he has spent years learning where the high-value bets hide. His tips go well beyond 1X2 picks, drawing on deep knowledge of both countries, including lower divisions such as the Championship and 2. Bundesliga, and domestic cups like the FA Cup and DFB-Pokal.

Aariz

Aariz brings 25 years of betting experience and has been profitable over the last ten years. He has spent most of that time on the Malaysia Super League, La Liga and Serie A, learning how to spot the high-value bets that most bettors overlook. Like Zayn, his tips go far beyond simple 1X2 predictions.

Away from club football, Aariz has a soft spot for international matches. Whether it is a friendly, the AFC Asian Cup, the World Cup, the Euros, or the Copa América, he follows national teams closely and brings that knowledge into his predictions.
