MelBet Malaysia Review (August 2026)

MelBet license checked out on the first attempt. That matters more than it sounds. Several platforms we've looked at display badges that lead nowhere, list regulators that don't exist, or cite bodies whose own national central bank says they have no legal standing. MelBet's footer seal resolves to a live certificate naming the operating company, the license number, and a current status of Active. We'll go through exactly what it says below.

The product behind it is the broadest we've come across. 9,017 pre-match events across seventeen-plus sports when we looked, 1,260 markets on a single Portuguese league fixture, 66 deposit methods including 44 cryptocurrencies, an eight-tier casino cashback scheme, football pools, virtual marble racing and a separate esports simulation product. MelBet offers a one-stop shop for Malaysians, and if you're the kind of bettor who has ever been frustrated by a bookmaker not covering something, this is the answer to that frustration.

What We Checked, and What We Found

MelBet Licensing: The Certificate, Verified

Most reviews of MelBet, including an earlier version of this one, describe the operator as licensed by "Curaçao eGaming." That's out of date, and it undersells what MelBet actually holds.

Curaçao eGaming was one of four private master-license holders under the pre-LOK system, which was dismantled in December 2024. All those sub-licenses have expired. Operators now apply directly to the Curaçao Gaming Authority, which issues licenses itself and requires a seal that clicks through to a verifiable certificate.

MelBet has one of the new direct licenses, and we clicked it.

What the Certificate Says

The certificate is reached by clicking the seal in MelBet's footer. It names melbet.com, Pelican Entertainment B.V., Curaçao Company Number 134359, and license OGL/2024/561/0554 with a status of Active.

The certificate confirms:

That's the full set. Domain, entity, number, date, and status, all of which are checkable in about twenty seconds from the footer of the site you're depositing on.

Who Actually Operates MelBet

The footer goes further than the certificate does, and this is where we have to correct our own earlier reporting.

Pelican Entertainment B.V. is the operator, incorporated under Curaçao law, registered at Seru Loraweg 17-C, Curaçao.

Two Cyprus companies act as payment agents on behalf of Pelican: Edric Ltd (registration HE 446653) and Faren Ltd (registration HE 446654), both at Demosthenes Severis 23, office 11, 1080, Nicosia.

An earlier version of this review stated that MelBet is owned by "Tutkia Ltd" and operates under a license from Pelican. Both were wrong. Pelican isn't the licensor; it's the licensee and the operator. And the Cyprus connection is real but sits at the payment layer, not ownership. Payment agents handle transaction processing; they don't own the business.

That level of disclosure, with named operator, company number, registered address, and named payment agents with their own registration numbers, is well above what we've seen elsewhere lately in this market. Several competitors name no legal entity at all.

One Inconsistency Worth Knowing

The footer text says MelBet is "licensed by the Curaçao Gaming Control Board," and the green badge beside it reads cert.gcb.cw.

The certificate it actually opens is issued by the Curaçao Gaming Authority at cert.cga.cw.

The GCB was the predecessor body; the CGA replaced it under the new framework. So MelBet's footer wording and badge are out of date even though the license itself is current, valid, and correctly issued. It's a labeling lag rather than a substantive problem, but we'd rather point it out than have you notice it and wonder.

When Did MelBet Actually Launch?

Worth settling, because we had this wrong too.

An earlier version of this review said MelBet was founded in 2012. That date is repeated across many third-party pages, but we couldn't tie it to a single first-party source, and several of the sites repeating it also state MelBet's ownership incorrectly, which isn't a reassuring signal about the rest of what they publish.

What MelBet itself publishes is a copyright line in its own footer: © 2015 – 2026.

So we've gone with what the operator documents about itself. MelBet has been trading since at least 2015 on its own notice, which makes it one of the longer-running platforms serving this market. Where the two figures conflict, we'd rather flag the conflict than quietly pick the more flattering number.

Responsible Gambling & Security Marks

MelBet's footer carries 18+, BeGambleAware, and direct links to Gamblers Anonymous and Gambling Therapy, two independent support organizations rather than just a logo.

There's also a DMCA Protected badge, and the platform states its interface and code are registered with the UK's Copyright House as of 5 July 2024 under certificate IDs WS972540219 and WS972540218.

Customer support publishes a phone number: +44 20 3807 7601. A live telephone line is uncommon among operators serving this market.

So Is MelBet Safe to Use in Malaysia?

On the two questions that matter:

Does the platform work properly? Yes. It's been trading since 2015, according to its own copyright notice, uses SSL throughout, offers two-factor authentication and session management in the account area, and processes deposits and withdrawals seven days a week.

Is there a regulator behind it? Yes, and this is the part that separates MelBet from most of what we've reviewed. The Curaçao Gaming Authority is a functioning regulator with a public certificate system. Curaçao sits below the UKGC or MGA on dispute resolution and mandated player protections. We're not going to pretend otherwise, but there is an actual body, with an actual register, that has actually licensed this operator.

Sports Welcome Bonus: 100% up to RM 500

A 100% match on your first deposit up to RM 500, rising to RM 650 with the promo code. Minimum qualifying deposit is RM 5, and the bonus must be used within 30 days.

The wagering is 5× the bonus amount in accumulator bets, and this is where the detail matters.

Each accumulator needs three or more selections, and at least three of those must be priced at 1.40 or higher.

Two exclusions people miss. Handicap and total bets don't count toward the requirement at all, so no Asian handicaps, no over/under. And if a selection in a winning accumulator is refunded, it's excluded when counting whether you hit the three-selection minimum.

Worked example. Deposit RM 500, receive RM 500, and you need RM 2,500 in qualifying accumulators. That's not a large turnover figure by this market's standards, which is what the restriction is: what you're allowed to bet on, not how much.

The partial withdrawal rule is unusually generous. Most operators lock everything until the rollover clears. MelBet lets you withdraw up to the total value of your deposits before completing the wagering, provided your remaining balance is at least twice the bonus amount. You can't touch the bonus or bonus winnings that way, but your own money isn't held hostage.

You can also reject the bonus outright if your balance exceeds the bonus amount, withdraw your deposits, and forfeit the bonus and any winnings from it. Having a documented exit is worth something.

Promo Code: What MYRMAX Actually Does

Worth being precise, because a lot of pages get this wrong.

The MelBet promo code MYRMAX does not turn the offer into a 130% bonus. The match rate stays at 100%. What the code does is raise the maximum bonus cap from RM 500 to RM 650, a 30% increase in the welcome offer.

In practice: deposit RM 650 without the code and you'd receive RM 500, because that's the cap. With the code, the same RM 650 deposit returns RM 650. Everything else, such as the 5× wagering, the accumulator structure, and the 30-day window, is identical.

Enter it in the Promo code field during registration. It isn't applied retroactively.

We'd be straightforward about this one. 40× inside a seven-day window, with stakes capped at RM 24 while you clear it, is demanding. Take the maximum RM 1,920 on a single stage, and you're looking at RM 76,800 in turnover in a week, at no more than RM 24 a spin. That's roughly 3,200 spins.

The free spins are the part to understand. They are credited only after the cash bonus is fully wagered, not on deposit. So the 290 spins aren't a welcome gift, as they're a reward for clearing five separate 40× requirements. The consolation is that once you do get them, winnings from the free spins carry no wagering at all.

Three conditions that will catch people:

Cancel one bonus and the whole chain dies. If you cancel any stage, all subsequent bonuses are cancelled with it.

Fast Games count double. Eligible bets placed in the Fast Games section contribute twice toward the requirement bet; RM 23 and RM 47 are credited. If you're clearing this bonus, that's the section to be in.

Withdraw in the last 24 hours, and the bonus won't be credited. Deposits made while a bonus is already being wagered also don't count toward the next stage.

The exclusion list is long: Lucky Wheel, Dragon's Gold, Monkeys, African Roulette, Crown & Anchor, Pipeline, Apple Of Fortune, Witch: Game Of Thrones, Swamp Land, Eastern Nights, Minesweeper, Kamikaze, Battle City, Island, Egg Catcher, Royal Feast, Cyber2077, Hi-lo Triple Chance, Cases, Crash, Jackpot Game, and Respin Slot. Island and Minesweeper contribute just 0.1% of the stake.

Which should you take? The sports bonus, unless you're a committed casino player with time to spend. RM 2,500 of accumulators over 30 days is achievable for a regular bettor. RM 76,800 over seven days at RM 24 a spin is not, for most people.

MelBet Casino VIP Cashback: Eight Tiers, No Qualification

This is the promotion we'd point to as MelBet's quiet strength, and almost nobody writes about it.

The Casino VIP Cashback ladder has eight levels running from Copper at 5% up to Diamond at 11%, with a separate VIP Status tier above it on a different calculation basis

Every player starts at Copper on 5% cashback with nothing to qualify for. That alone beats the standing rebate at several competitors we've reviewed.

The detail that matters most is buried in a footnote. From Copper through Diamond, cashback is calculated on the total amount of lost bets. Once you reach VIP Status, it switches to all bets placed, at 0.05% to 0.25% depending on the game. The exact same VIP program can be found on 1xBet and 22Bet as well, if this is something that interests you

That's why the headline number drops so sharply at the top tier; it's a completely different basis. On losses, 11% is generous. On total turnover, 0.25% is a different kind of return, and for high-volume players it can work out better. But it's not a demotion, and it's not a typo, and you should understand which basis you're on.

One caution: not every banner on the homepage is aimed at Malaysia. The 20% cashback via PromptPay offer is a Thai-market promotion, and PromptPay isn't a Malaysian payment rail. Check the terms of any offer against your own account before assuming it applies.

MelBet's sportsbook is the reason to be here, and the numbers do a better job of explaining it than adjectives would.

Pre-Match Coverage

The pre-match lobby from our account: 9,017 events in total, with football alone carrying 2,587 and individual fixtures showing over 1,200 additional markets.

When we captured this, MelBet had 9,017 pre-match events open on 8 August 2026, a date when most sports still have summer breaks, so this number is usually much higher. The breakdown by sport:

Football 2,587, the anchor, covering everything from the Eredivisie and Primeira Liga to Austrian, Belgian and North American competitions.

Esports 187, Ice Hockey 136, American Football 126, Cricket 107, Tennis 100, Basketball 76, UFC 67, Baseball 55, Athletics 46, Australian Rules 33, Bare-knuckle Boxing 17, Badminton 10, Arm Wrestling 8, Beach Volleyball 4, Bicycle Racing 3, Billiards 3, Beach Soccer 2.

Arm wrestling and bare-knuckle boxing with dedicated market counts tell you something about MelBet's approach that no marketing copy could.

Badminton at 10 pre-match events is worth noting given the Malaysian audience. It's covered, but it isn't comprehensive, so if badminton is your main market, check the fixture list before committing.

How Many Markets on a Single Match?

Estoril against Famalicão in the Portuguese Primeira Liga shows 1,260 markets on one fixture, sorted into Totals, Handicaps, Goals, Intervals and Asian markets.

We opened a Portuguese Primeira Liga match, Estoril against Famalicão, a first-round fixture with no particular profile, to see how deep the pricing goes on an ordinary game.

They're organized into filters so the volume is navigable: Total (100), Handicap (12), Popular (294), Goals (228), Intervals (116), Result + Total (166) and Asian markets (52), with a search box for finding a specific market.

The market types run well beyond the standard set. Alongside 1X2, Double Chance, Both Teams To Score and Asian Handicap, we found 1X2 (2UP), a market that pays early if your team goes two goals clear, plus combination markets like Double Chance + Both Teams To Score, 1X2 + Each Team To Score 2 Or More, and Asian Totals priced in quarter-goal increments from 0.75 through 4.25.

For context, most Malaysian-facing operators offer somewhere between 100 and 400 markets on a headline fixture. MelBet offers 1,260 on a routine one, and we saw +1,247, +1,208, +1,147 and +1,132 on other fixtures in the same lobby.

Live Betting & Streaming

MelBet's live section carried 985 in-play events when we checked, with 336 of those offering live streaming.

Live counts by sport: Football 120, Table Tennis 47, Tennis 40, Esports 33, Cricket 28, Basketball 23, Ice Hockey 14, Volleyball 12, Athletics 7, Badminton 5, Beach Volleyball 4, Bowling 2, Darts 1.

Individual live fixtures carried +153, +205, +385 and +528 additional markets behind the main board.

Streaming is the part worth planning around. You need either funds in your account or an active bet on the match to access a stream, and it plays alongside the live markets rather than in a separate window. For a Malaysian bettor, that removes the usual problem of watching on one screen and betting on another with a few seconds of lag between them.

Coverage spans football, tennis, basketball and esports, and it's really useful during tournament periods when a lot of matches run simultaneously.

Advancebet: Betting Against Unsettled Returns

This is a MelBet-specific feature, and it's unusual enough to explain properly.

If you have open bets that haven't settled and no money left in your main balance, MelBet assesses the potential return on those unresolved wagers and extends you a temporary advance balance. You can use it to place new bets on live events or on anything starting within 48 hours.

If your open bets lose, you don't owe the advance back. It simply isn't available again until your position improves.

It's very useful during a busy afternoon of football when your balance is tied up in earlier fixtures, and we haven't seen it offered by any other operator serving Malaysia.

MelBet Toto: Football Pools

The Toto section from our account the last time we visited shows TOTO-15 draw number 4269 with a minimum jackpot of RM 74,571, and a separate football pool showing RM 712,594.

Toto is a pool betting product rather than fixed-odds, and MelBet runs several variants: TOTO-15, Correct Score, Football, Ice Hockey, Basketball, Cricket, Esports-FIFA, Esports, and a free-to-enter Toto.

Here's how it works. You predict outcomes across a fixed set of matches: 1, X, or 2 on each, and everyone's stakes go into a shared pool. Get enough right, and you share the prize.

The numbers when we looked: TOTO-15 draw number 4269 was open, with bets accepted until 22:00 on 08/08/2026 and a minimum jackpot of RM 74,571. The separate Football pool showed RM 712,594.

MelBet also displays the percentage of players backing each outcome, which is helpful for spotting where the field is concentrated. On the fixtures we looked at, Swansea against Birmingham showed 31% / 25% / 44%.

Stakes run from RM 2.5 to RM 50,000. There's a Batch bet mode for entering multiple combinations, and a Blind bet option that generates random selections. You set a stake per slip and a number of slips.

The free Toto variant costs nothing to enter, which makes it worth a look regardless.

Esports Betting

The esports lobby from our last session lists twelve disciplines with live and pre-match markets, split across Real, Virtual and MelCyber tabs.

The esports section splits three ways: Real, Virtual and MelCyber. That distinction isn't explained anywhere on the site, so here it is: Real is authentic tournament play, Virtual is simulated, and MelCyber is MelBet's own esports product.

Disciplines covered, with the event counts we saw:

League of Legends (13), CS 2 (9), Dota 2 (7), Valorant (4), Honor of Kings (3), PUBG (2), Rocket League (2), Crossfire (2), Starcraft II (1), Rainbow Six (1), Call of Duty (1), Quake Champions (1), Tekken 8 (1).

Note what isn't there: Mobile Legends, most likely due to a lack of competitive games in the near future; on our last review visit, they had it listed. And note that Honor of Kings, Quake Champions, and Tekken 8 are all available, which are not standard coverage anywhere.

Live events when we looked included League of Legends LEC Summer, Dota 2 EPL Masters, Valorant Champions Tour EMEA, and the CS2 Esports World Cup Last Chance Qualifier.

Pre-match depth is the surprise. The Dota 2 International 2026 outright carried +37 markets, and CS2 Esports World Cup markets went well beyond match winners into Highest ADR, Highest KAST%, HLTV MVP and Most Kills in a Map for both players and teams, with +27 and +10 markets on each.

If you follow esports betting seriously, statistical player betting markets are hard to find on sportsbooks, but MelBet is one of the few that offers plenty of individual player markets in a high number of games we checked.

Virtual Sports

The virtual sports section carries twelve categories running from sports simulators to marble racing, with FIFA carrying 77 events when we checked.

Virtual sports run 24/7 regardless of the real-world calendar, and MelBet's section is considerably stranger and larger than the phrase suggests.

The categories: Sports Simulators (20), Fighting Games (15), Marble Sports (15), Sports Games (10), Card Games (9), Online RPGs (3), Shooters (3), Vehicular Combat Games (2), Strategy (2), Adventure (2), Puzzles (1), and Others (18).

FIFA is the anchor with 77 events running, spanning FC 25 and FC 26 across German, Spanish, Italian, European, and Champions League simulated competitions, plus 3x3 and 4x4 formats.

Mortal Kombat carried 23 events. Beyond that: Esports Volleyball, Subway Surfers, Crystal, Dice, Durak, Esports Poker, and Higher vs Lower.

Then there's the marble racing. Marble Shooting, Marble Fidget Spinners, Marble Billiards, Marble Waves, Marble Curling, Marble Round Target, Marble Slides, Marble Collision, Marble LOTTO, Marble MMA, Marble Race, and Marble Baseball all have their own markets.

We're not going to pretend marble curling is a serious betting proposition. But if you want something to bet on at 4 am with no real fixtures running, MelBet has thought about that harder than anyone else.

Casino Section

Slots & Casino Lobby

The casino lobby shows provider filters down the left, collections including "Best in Malaysia", and a live Winning Now feed showing real payouts in RM the last time we visited.

MelBet's own About page states it works with over 120 casino providers. An earlier version of this review said 70, which understated it.

Providers visible in the filter included Winfinity, Mancala Gaming, Evolution, Aviatrix, Spinomenal, InOut, EGT Digital, Aviator Studio, Amusnet, The Hood, Volt Ent, and Barbara Bang, with the list scrolling well beyond that.

The lobby organizes by mechanic rather than just by studio, which is more useful than it sounds. Filters cover Megaways, "Book of" slots, Crash, Hold and Win, Instant Games and Table Games, so if you know you want a hold-and-win game, you can find every one on the platform in a click.

The Winning Now feed runs live payouts in RM with partial player IDs. When we looked, it showed Super Ace at RM 23,584.04, Chicken Road at RM 13,447.34, Super Ace at RM 9,239.95, and Gates of Olympus at RM 8,535.16.

Popular slots included 3 Fortune Mummies, Royalty of Olympus, Bang! Bang!, Wild Hot 40, Hot Deco, Melbet Navigator, Super Ace Speed, Sugar Rush 1000, Falcon Cash, Serengeti Sunrise, and Elven Hold and Win.

MelBet also gives JetX and Aviatrix their own top-level tabs alongside Casino and Live Casino, which reflects how much of the traffic those two crash games now take.

The "Best in Malaysia" Collection

This is the part of the casino lobby most worth knowing about if you're playing from Malaysia, and it isn't a marketing line; it's a filter you can click.

Selecting Best in Malaysia returned a short, specific shelf rather than a repackaged global top twenty. What was in it when we looked:

Aviatrix (flagged PROMO), Elephant's Gold Bonus Combo, 5 Crown Fire, Carnival Cat Bonus Combo (PROMO), Boxing King, Super Ace, Gilded Rhino Hold and Win (NEW), Aviator, Chicken Road 2, Money Coming, Coin Up Hot Fire 3x3 and Cash Me (NEW).

Two things stand out.

Crash games dominate it. Aviatrix, Aviator, and Chicken Road 2 all sit on the shelf, which tracks with what we generally see across Malaysian-facing lobbies, and with the Winning Now feed above it, where Chicken Road and JetX payouts repeatedly ran into five figures in RM.

JL Games are heavily represented. Boxing King, Super Ace and Money Coming. That's a studio which barely registers in European lobbies but is a staple across Southeast Asia, and its presence here is a reasonable signal that the shelf is regionally curated rather than translated.

Worth pairing this with the Bonus Wagering collection sitting three rows below it, which filters to the games that actually count toward turnover. Anyone clearing the 40× casino package should check that list before choosing where to spin.

One honest thought: we can't verify from the outside whether "Best in Malaysia" is really Malaysia-specific or the same shelf served across several Asian markets. The composition looks regional rather than global. What we can say is that having it as a one-click filter is more useful than scrolling through 120 providers to guess.
