How We Earn Money (Affiliate Disclosure)

What determines a rating

Ratings come from testing, not from commercial relationships. Our testing process explains this in full, but in summary: we open accounts with real money, deposit through Malaysian payment methods, use the products, and where possible complete a withdrawal. We check licenses by clicking the operator's own seal and following it to a regulator's certificate. We read the terms and conditions properly, including the wagering requirements and exclusion lists that determine whether a bonus is actually clearable.

When we get it wrong

The legal position

Gambling law in Malaysia rests principally on the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953 and the Betting Act 1953, both of which predate the internet by several decades. Neither was written with online gambling in mind, which is the source of most of the ambiguity around it.

Enforcement has historically focused on operators and physical premises rather than individual players. Offshore platforms are widely accessible and widely used in Malaysia. That is not the same as their use being expressly permitted, and we won't tell you there is no risk, because that isn't ours to promise.
