Maxim88 Malaysia Review (August 2026)

Maxim88 is a Malaysia-focused betting platform covering sports, esports, slots, live casino, fishing, fast games, 4D and QQKeno under a single account. It runs on local payment rails, prices everything in ringgit, and leans heavily on partnerships with Evolution, Pragmatic Play, Spadegaming and JILI.
On the product side, it does most things well, and we'll go through the games, bonuses and banking below.
The licensing is the problem, and it's significant enough that we've put it first rather than at the bottom. Maxim88 does not currently display a gaming license, and when we asked support about it, they confirmed why. That changes how you should read everything else on this page, so start there.
This Maxim88 Malaysia review covers what we found using the platform: the license situation as support described it to us, the welcome bonuses and their real turnover requirements, which payment methods actually appear in the cashier, the VIP thresholds, and where Maxim88 falls short.
Licensing: Maxim88 Currently Has No Published License
Most reviews of Maxim88, including an earlier version of this one, state that it holds a Curaçao eGaming license. When we went to verify that, we couldn't.
What the Footer Actually Shows
Maxim88's footer carries three groups of badges, and none of them is a gaming license.
Under Certification you'll find BMM, iTech Labs, Gaming Labs Certified International, GoDaddy Verified & Secured, and Payouts Reviewed by TST Global. Under Security there's iovation and ThreatMetrix. Under Sponsorship, Michael Owen.
It's worth separating what those actually mean, because a row of logos tends to read as "regulated" when it isn't.
bmm, iTech Labs and Gaming Labs Certified are independent testing laboratories. They audit random number generators and game fairness. That's legitimate and useful, as it means the games aren't rigged.
TST Global (Technical Systems Testing, now part of Gaming Labs) reviews payout percentages.
GoDaddy Verified & Secured is an SSL certificate badge. It confirms the site encrypts traffic. It has nothing to do with gambling at all.
iovation and ThreatMetrix are fraud-prevention and device-intelligence tools. They protect the operator against fraudulent accounts. They are not player protections, and they are not certifications.
What's missing from that list is the only badge that matters for recourse: a license from a gaming regulator.
What Support Told Us
We opened live chat and asked directly where the license was displayed. The agent first pointed us to the footer. When we said there was no gaming license there, she checked with the internal team and came back with this.
Our live chat with Maxim88 support, where the agent confirmed the old license certificate was taken down from the site, that a new one is still being applied for, and that Maxim88 couldn't say which license it would be or when it would arrive.
Four things came out of that conversation, and each one matters.
Maxim88 removed the old certificate themselves. In the agent's words, the licensing is in a renewal process, and they temporarily brought the old certificate down. So the absence in the footer isn't an oversight; it's deliberate.
The new license is at application stage, not renewal. The agent's second message describes it as "still in the application process." Renewal implies something continuous; application implies starting from the beginning. Those are different positions, and the second is weaker.
Maxim88 won't say which license it is. We asked. The answer was that they were unable to disclose the information, only that it would be processed by a government body. An operator part-way through an application knows exactly which regulator it's dealing with, so declining to name it is unusual.
There's no timeframe. We asked for an ETA and were told none could be given.
Some Context on Why This Might Be Happening
We want to be fair about this rather than just alarming.
Curaçao restructured its entire gambling framework in December 2024. The old system, where four private master-license holders resold sub-licenses with limited scrutiny, was dismantled. All legacy sub-licenses expired, the transitional seal stopped being valid in October 2025, and operators now have to apply directly to the Curaçao Gaming Authority, which issues licenses itself and requires a seal that clicks through to a verifiable certificate.
Curaçao eGaming, the body Maxim88 was previously listed under, was one of those old master licensees. So if Maxim88 is stuck in a queue, that's an entirely plausible explanation, and a lot of operators are in the same position.
It's also worth saying that pulling the badge is the more honest option. Plenty of sites in this market leave a dead certificate up and hope nobody clicks it. Maxim88 took theirs down.
What This Means If You Deposit Today
None of that context changes the practical position, which is simple.
Right now there is no regulator overseeing this operator. If a withdrawal is refused, a bonus is voided, or an account is closed with a balance in it, there is nobody above Maxim88 you can escalate to. That's what a license buys you, and at the moment it isn't there.
The testing certificates don't fill that gap. BMM and Gaming Labs confirm the games behave as advertised. They have no authority over whether you get paid.
We're not telling you Maxim88 won't pay you. We're telling you that if you deposit today, you're depositing with an operator that is currently unlicensed, and you should size your play with that in mind rather than treating the certification row as equivalent.
We'll re-check the footer monthly and update this section the moment a certificate appears.
Is Maxim88 Safe to Use in Malaysia?
The honest answer is that it depends on what you mean by safe.
The platform is technically sound. It runs SSL encryption, uses commercial-grade fraud detection, has independently tested games, and has been operating long enough to have an established player base. In terms of the site working as it should and the games being fair, there's no reason for concern.
Financially, you're currently unprotected in the way you would be at a licensed operator. That's not a prediction about Maxim88's conduct, but it's a statement about what happens if something goes wrong.
If you want a Malaysian-facing operator whose license you can verify yourself, Dafabet publishes a certificate you can click through and check.
A Note on the Registered Address
Some reviews list Maxim88's registered address as 9 Abraham De Veerstraat, Willemstad, Curaçao. That address is a registered-agent address shared by many Curaçao-registered gambling companies. It isn't Maxim88's office, and it doesn't identify the operating company. We've left it out of this review because on its own it verifies nothing.
Maxim88 Bonuses & Promotions
Maxim88's promotional lineup is broad, covering sports, esports, slots, live casino, and fishing, with separate offers for new and existing players. The structure is more layered than most competitors in this market, which is a strength if you engage with it and a source of confusion if you don't.
One rule to know upfront: promotions can't be stacked. You need to finish or cancel one before claiming another.
Maxim88 Welcome Bonuses
New players choose between three welcome offers rather than receiving one fixed package. They suit different products, and the turnover maths behind them is quite different.

- Min deposit RM 50 | 18× turnover | 30 days validity
- Providers: CMD368, SABA Sports, TF Gaming, EsportsBull
- Example: deposit RM 200 → bonus RM 200 → turnover RM 7,200

- Min deposit RM 100, valid on all slots and fishing except PlayAce
- 28× turnover | 30 days validity
- Example: deposit RM 100 → bonus RM 288 → turnover RM 10,864

- Deposit RM 50–1,000 for 18–188 free spins
- Games: Gates of Olympus, Sweet Bonanza, Sugar Rush, Starlight Princess
- Credited within 24 hours, valid 14 days
Which Maxim88 Welcome Bonus Is Actually Worth Taking
The headline percentages point one way, and the arithmetic points another, so it's worth spending a minute on this.
The turnover is calculated on bonus plus deposit, not on the bonus alone. That catches people out, because most operators in this market apply it to the bonus only. It's why the RM 200 sports example needs RM 7,200 rather than RM 3,600.
The 288% offer caps out at a RM 100 deposit. 288% of RM 100 is exactly RM 288, which is the maximum bonus. Deposit RM 300 and you still get RM 288, but your turnover requirement climbs, because it's calculated on your deposit as well as the bonus. On this offer, depositing more than the minimum actively works against you.
The sports bonus is the easier of the two to clear. 18× against 28×, and sports turnover accumulates faster than slot turnover for most players because bet sizes are larger.
The free spins are the lowest-commitment option if you mainly play Pragmatic slots, since they don't lock your deposit behind a rollover in the same way.
Reloads, Cashback and Rebates
Beyond the welcome offers, Maxim88 runs a set of recurring promotions aimed at existing players. This is where the platform is genuinely stronger than most of its competitors.
| Promotion | Key Details |
|---|---|
| Daily Reload Bonus | 10%–50%, max bonus RM 300, 12× turnover, valid 30 days |
| Weekly Cashback | 3%–8% up to RM 8,888, by VIP tier (Normal 3% → Crockford 8%) |
| Instant Rebate | Hourly rebate up to 1.0%, no turnover requirement |
| Crypto Bonus | Up to RM 1,888, 1× turnover |
| Spadegaming Tournament | Prize pool RM 2.56 million | RM 4.50 bet = 100 points |
| Baccarat 8 Loss 9 | Lose with a natural 8 against 9 → 100% cashback, max RM 2,888 |
The two worth paying attention to are the Instant Rebate and the Crypto Bonus. The rebate pays hourly with no turnover attached, which is unusual, and most rebates in this market carry a rollover. The crypto bonus at 1× turnover is the lightest wagering requirement anywhere on the site by a wide margin.
Baccarat 8 Loss 9 is a narrow promotion but a real one: if you lose a hand holding a natural 8 against a natural 9, you get the stake back up to RM 2,888.
Maxim88 Promo Code
There is no Maxim88 promo code available at the time of writing, and no bonus code field at the cashier. The welcome offers are claimed by selecting them rather than by entering a code.
If a boosted welcome offer via promo code is what you're after, these are the ones currently active in Malaysia:
- 1xBet Promo Code "MAXMY" — 30% extra on your first deposit, 100% up to RM 760
- Megapari Promo Code "MYRMAX" — increased sports welcome offer up to RM 1,150
- MelBet Promo Code "MYRMAX" — 30% extra on a 100% up to RM 650 welcome offer
- 888starz Promo Code "MYRMAX" — 30% extra on your first deposit, 200% up to RM 2,150
Maxim88 Banking Methods
Maxim88 supports the payment rails Malaysian players actually use, plus three cryptocurrencies. All the common banking methods in Malaysia for betting are covered, with one notable exception.
Maxim88 Deposit Methods
| Category | Options | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| E-Wallets | Touch 'n Go, GrabPay, Boost | Near-instant, and the fastest local route in both directions |
| Bank Transfer & Gateways | DuitNow, EeziePay, Help2Pay, InstantPay | Supports all major Malaysian banks |
| Cryptocurrency | Bitcoin (BTC), Tether (USDT), Ethereum (ETH) | Eligible for the RM 1,888 crypto bonus at 1× turnover |
Cards are not supported. Some reviews list Visa and Mastercard among Maxim88's payment methods, including an earlier version of this one. They don't appear in the cashier or in the footer payment row, and we'd suggest treating any review that lists them as not having checked. If you want to deposit by card, this isn't the platform for it.
The e-wallet coverage is the strong point. Touch 'n Go, GrabPay and Boost all appear as named methods rather than being routed through a third-party aggregator, which is a smoother experience than several competitors manage.
Maxim88 Withdrawal Times and Limits
Withdrawals are processed within 24 hours to 3 business days, depending on the method, with crypto the fastest.
KYC verification is required before your first withdrawal. Complete it early rather than at the point you want your money, and this is the same advice we give for every operator, and it's the single most common cause of delayed payouts.
Daily withdrawal limits scale with VIP tier, running from standard limits at Normal level up to unlimited at Crockford. If you're playing at volume, the tier you sit at determines how quickly you can move money out.
Maxim88 Casino
The casino is the strongest part of the platform. It covers slots, live dealer, fishing, arcade, fast games, 4D, and QQKeno, with demo play available on most slots and an interface that works in both Bahasa Malaysia and English.
Maxim88 Sports & Esports Betting
Maxim88 runs several sportsbook feeds rather than a single engine, which means the same fixture can be priced differently depending on which one you open.
| Platform | Coverage |
|---|---|
| Maxim88 Sports | Local Malaysian odds across football, basketball, tennis, golf, NFL |
| CMD368 / SABA Sports | Live odds, parlays, Asian handicap, 1X2 formats |
| BTI / Maxbet / BetRadar | Virtual sports, live streaming, horse racing, statistical tools |
| EsportsBull / TF Gaming / IM Esports | Dota 2, CS2, League of Legends, Valorant, Call of Duty: Warzone |
Featured markets run across the English Premier League, NBA, ATP, PGA, Dota 2 The International, and the LoL LEC.
The esports coverage is deeper than most Malaysian-facing operators bother with, and it qualifies for the same 100% welcome bonus and 50% daily reload as the main sportsbook.
If you bet across more than one feed, it's worth checking both before placing anything significant, as separate odds feeds under one account means separate pricing.
Maxim88 Mobile App
Maxim88 offers apps for Android and iOS, installed via the QR code on the homepage rather than through the app stores. The app mirrors the desktop site with faster navigation, simpler wallet transfers between products, and push notifications for rebates and tournaments.
Using the app rather than a browser also removes the risk of landing on a phishing clone, which is a persistent problem across Malaysian-facing gambling sites.
This is one of the better betting apps in Malaysia if you use both the casino and sportsbook, mainly because the multi-wallet structure is easier to manage on mobile than on desktop.
Maxim88 VIP Program
The VIP program runs six tiers: Normal → Classic → Silver → Gold → Platinum → Crockford, with Crockford by invitation only.
| Tier | Min Monthly Deposit | Key Perks |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | Entry level | 3% weekly cashback, standard withdrawal limits |
| Classic | RM 50,000 | 0.4–0.6% rebate, 10 daily transactions, RM 80,000 withdrawal limit |
| Silver | RM 150,000 | 0.5–0.7% rebate, 15 transactions, RM 100,000 withdrawal limit |
| Gold | RM 500,000 | Account manager, RM 150,000 withdrawal limit, 0.8% rebates |
| Platinum | RM 800,000 | VIP gifts, festival bonuses, 0.9% rebates |
| Crockford | Invitation only | Unlimited withdrawals, 1% rebates, lifetime membership |
A note on those thresholds. RM 50,000 in monthly deposits to reach the entry tier above Normal is high by any standard, and RM 800,000 for Platinum puts the upper tiers out of reach for all but a very small number of players. The program is generous to those who qualify, but it's worth being clear that most readers will remain at Normal, where the benefit is a 3% weekly cashback rather than anything more.
If you do progress, VIP members receive birthday bonuses up to RM 1,888, faster withdrawals and personalized support, plus occasional no-deposit bonuses.
Customer Support
Support runs 24/7 through live chat, phone, and social media. Our own live chat test connected to a named agent quickly, and when we asked a question the agent couldn't answer immediately, she checked with an internal department and came back with a substantive answer rather than deflecting.
That's worth saying plainly: the license finding on this page exists because Maxim88's support team answered a difficult question honestly. A lot of operators would have repeated the marketing line.
Brand Ambassador
Michael Owen served as Maxim88's brand ambassador during 2022/23, as the footer still notes. The partnership raised the brand's profile in Malaysia and Singapore at the time, though it appears to have ended.
Michael Owen was Maxim88's brand ambassador for the 2022/23 period, as credited in the site footer.
Sponsorships indicate commercial scale rather than how an operator treats players, and they aren't a substitute for a license.

Verdict: Is Maxim88 Worth Using?
As a product, Maxim88 is well built. The local payment coverage is among the best we've tested for Malaysia, the recurring promotions are more generous than the headline welcome offers suggest, the 4D and fishing sections are genuinely tailored to this market rather than bolted on, and support answered a difficult question straight away when we put it to them.
The license is the deciding factor, and there's no way around it. Maxim88 removed its old certificate, is at the application stage for a new one, won't say which regulator is involved, and can't give a timeframe. Until that changes, depositing here means depositing with an operator nobody is currently overseeing.
That doesn't make it a scam, and we've seen no evidence of players being refused payouts. It does mean the safety net most people assume is there isn't there right now.
Our view: if you already play at Maxim88 and it's working for you, the practical risk of keeping a modest balance is low. If you're choosing a new platform today, we'd wait until the certificate is published, or use an operator whose license you can verify yourself. We'll update this section as soon as that changes.
