Megapari App Malaysia: APK, Permissions & Download Guide (August 2026)
We downloaded the Megapari APK, installed it, opened the Android permission manager, and wrote down every number. This page has the figures: file size, installed size, version, what the app asks for access to, and what happens when Chrome flags the download.
If you searched for the Megapari app because you wanted to know whether it's safe to install, that question gets answered properly further down rather than in a one-line reassurance.
Megapari App Specs: What We Measured
Every figure below came from our own install on a Samsung Galaxy S24. Nothing here is taken from Megapari's download page.
| Measurement | What We Found |
|---|---|
| APK file size | 55.71 MB |
| App size once installed | 141 MB |
| User data after first session | 7.65 MB |
| Cache after first session | 12.05 MB |
| Total storage used | 161 MB |
| Version installed | megapari-v255.0.2 |
| Permissions requested | 26 |
| Camera access requested | Yes |
| Microphone access requested | Yes |
| Location access requested | Yes, foreground only |
| Contacts access requested | No |
The Android storage page on our Galaxy S24 after the first session: 141 MB for the app itself, 7.65 MB of user data, and 12.05 MB of cache, for 161 MB total. The version string reads megapari-v255.0.2.
A 55.71 MB download becomes a 141 MB app. That's a normal expansion for a betting app, since the APK ships compressed and unpacks on install. What it means practically: don't start the download with 60 MB free and expect it to finish.
How that compares to the other apps we've measured:
| App | APK Size | Installed Size |
|---|---|---|
| BK8 | 29.7 MB | Not recorded |
| 1xBet | 48.2 MB | Not recorded |
| Megapari | 55.71 MB | 141 MB |
| 12Play | 102.8 MB | 170 MB |
Megapari sits in the middle. It's roughly half the download of the 12Play app and around 20% larger than 1xBet's.
Why Chrome Says the Megapari APK "Might Be Harmful"
This is the part people search for after clicking download, and it deserves a straight answer.
The exact warning we got on the Galaxy S24. Chrome flags the 55.71 MB file. Chrome flags the 55.71 MB file, and the source domain shown is not megapari.com. The address bar shows the download was routed through app.appsflyer.com.
Two separate things are happening here, and they get confused constantly.
First, the warning itself is routine. Chrome shows "File might be harmful" for essentially every APK downloaded outside the Play Store. It isn't a virus scan result, and it isn't specific to Megapari. Google's own guidance on download warnings explains that the browser flags file types that can install software, regardless of what's in them. Every betting app in Malaysia produces the same message, because none of them are on Google Play.
Second, and more worth knowing: the file isn't served from megapari.com. Our download went through app.appsflyer.com and the file itself came from bkre23.com.
AppsFlyer is a mainstream mobile attribution platform used by thousands of legitimate apps to track which marketing campaign an install came from. Routing an APK through it is a normal industry practice, not a red flag on its own. The third-party hosting domain is also common for offshore operators, who rotate domains to stay reachable.
But it does mean you cannot verify the file by its source domain, which is the usual advice for APK downloads. So here's what actually protects you:
- Start from megapari.com every time, never from a link someone sent you or a search result for "Megapari APK download"
- Check the file size. Ours was 55.71 MB. A file wildly off that figure is worth a second look
- Check the version after install. Ours reported v255.0.2 in Settings and on the loading screen
- Never install a Megapari APK from an app store site, a forum post or a file-sharing link. Those are where genuinely modified builds live
The security risk with betting apps has never really been the APK format. It's downloading a repackaged copy from somewhere that isn't the operator.
How to Download the Megapari App APK on Android
Megapari App on iOS: Available, But Not From Malaysia
The Megapari iOS app exists. You just can't reach it with a Malaysian IP address.
Apple only allows real-money gambling apps from operators licensed in the country the App Store account belongs to, and Malaysia doesn't issue online gambling licenses. So the listing is live in other regions and absent from the Malaysian store, the same structural problem that keeps the 1xBet app out of the Malaysian App Store entirely.
A VPN gets you to the listing. We don't recommend using one, and the reason isn't Apple.
Nearly every operator's terms treat VPN use as grounds for account action. If a withdrawal review shows your account is connected from an IP address that doesn't match your registered country, the usual outcome is a frozen balance and a forfeited bonus. You'd be risking the money to save an install step.
The PWA does the same job with none of that risk. Open Megapari in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. You get an app-style icon, the full sportsbook and casino, and no storage cost. Full steps are further down this page.
What you lose without the native iOS app: push notifications, Face ID login, and the offline caching that keeps data usage low. What you keep: everything you'd actually bet with.
Megapari App Permissions: All 26, Explained
This is where the Megapari app differs most from the others we've installed, and it's a genuine trade-off rather than a problem.
Megapari's permission list as Android displays it on the Galaxy S24: camera, foreground location, and microphone. The BK8 and 12Play apps request none of these three.
We counted 26 permissions across nine categories. Here's the full breakdown.
| Category | Permissions Requested |
|---|---|
| Camera | Take pictures and videos |
| Location | Access precise location (foreground only), access approximate location (foreground only) |
| Microphone | Record audio |
| Notifications | Show notifications |
| Phone | Read phone status and identity, make/receive SIP calls |
| Network | Full network access, view network connections, view Wi-Fi connections, receive data from the internet |
| Biometrics | Use fingerprint hardware, use biometric hardware |
| Advertising & attribution | Advertising ID permission, access AdId API, access AdServices Attribution APIs, Play Install Referrer API |
| System & background | Run at startup, run foreground service, run foreground service with type 'dataSync', prevent phone from sleeping, retrieve running apps, control vibration, change audio settings, read Google service configuration, access sensor data at high sampling rate |
The Three Worth Thinking About
Camera. Almost certainly for two things: uploading identity documents during KYC, and scanning QR codes at the cashier. Both are legitimate uses, and both are things you'd otherwise do awkwardly. You can leave this denied until the app actually needs it.
Microphone. The one that raises eyebrows. Megapari doesn't explain it in the app, and the most likely explanation is voice input for live chat support or in-game audio features. Neither the BK8 app nor the 12Play app requests it. You can deny it and the app works normally, which is what we'd suggest until you find a feature that needs it.
Location, foreground only. Note the qualifier: Android's permission manager shows both precise and approximate location as foreground only, meaning the app can't track you when it's closed. Offshore operators typically use this for regional compliance, checking you're not connecting from a country they can't serve. It's less invasive than background location, which some apps do request.
How Megapari's Permissions Compare
| App | Total Permissions | Camera | Microphone | Contacts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BK8 | 16 (5 toggleable) | No | No | No |
| 12Play | 21 | No | No | No |
| Megapari | 26 | Yes | Yes | No |
| 1xBet | 39 | Not recorded | Not recorded | Not recorded |
The honest summary: Megapari asks for fewer permissions than the 1xBet app and more than BK8's. It's the only one of the three where we found camera and microphone requests, and it requests no access to your contacts. Deny the microphone, allow the camera when KYC asks for it, and you've closed the gap.
One permission is worth flagging for a different reason. "Make/receive SIP calls" is unusual for a betting app and typically relates to in-app voice support. It's not dangerous, but it's not standard either.
Megapari App Features: What the Interface Actually Does
The app version we tested was v255.0.2, confirmed on both the loading screen and in the storage settings.
The Megapari app loading screen on our Galaxy S24. The version number sits in the bottom right corner, which is the quickest way to confirm you installed the current build.
The Menu Layout
The Megapari app menu, split into five tabs: Top, Sports, Casino, MegaGames and Other. The promo codes entry shows your points balance directly in the menu.
Navigation runs on five tabs across the top: Top, Sports, Casino, MegaGames and Other. The bottom bar carries Popular, Favorites, Bet slip, History and Menu, with the bet slip as a floating red button in the center.
Three things worth noting from the menu:
The promo codes entry shows your points balance inline. Ours reads "Promo points: 0 PTS" without needing to open the store, which is a small touch the website doesn't offer.
Authenticator is a top-level menu item, not buried in security settings. Two-factor authentication being one tap from the main menu is more than most betting apps manage.
MegaGames gets its own tab. That's Megapari's in-house games section, and it matters for bonus wagering, since bets there count double toward the casino package turnover.
The Sportsbook in the App
The live sports list in the app, with event counts per sport and the livestream toggle highlighted in the top right. Table tennis carried the most live events when we checked.
The Sports section splits into LIVE, Pre-match, and Esports tabs, and each sport displays its live event count next to its name.
What we counted live at the time of checking: table tennis 23, football 11, volleyball 10, basketball 8, esports 8, athletics 8, cricket 6, badminton 4, Mortal Kombat 3, tennis 2, ice hockey 2, beach volleyball 2, baseball 1.
Two observations from that list.
Table tennis at 23 live events outnumbered football, which tells you something about how Megapari sources its coverage. If you follow ITTF events or Asian table tennis leagues, that depth is unusual for a general sportsbook.
Badminton is there as a standard category, which matters more in Malaysia than almost anywhere else. BWF tournaments and Malaysia Super League fixtures both appeared in the list.
The livestream toggle sits in the top-right corner of the sports screen, marked with a red video icon. Tapping it filters the list to events you can watch in-app, which is faster than opening each match to check.
Mortal Kombat appearing as a live betting category alongside traditional sports is a reminder that esports betting coverage here goes well past the usual three games. Esports bets count toward the welcome bonus wagering the same as football.
Deposits Inside the App
The Megapari app cashier. Touch 'n Go carries a TOP badge and DuitNow a recommended marker, with bank transfer, e-wallets and vouchers in separate groups.
The app cashier groups methods into payment cards, bank transfer, e-wallets and e-vouchers, which makes it faster to scan than the website's single long list.
What's on the deposit screen:
- Bank transfer: Maybank, Touch 'n Go, DuitNow, GrabPay, ShopeePay
- Cards: Visa and Mastercard
- E-wallets: AstroPay, iCash. One, JetonBank, MiFinity, BybitPay, plus a combined "E-wallets by iCash. One" tile covering Touch 'n Go, DuitNow, Boost, ShopeePay, GrabPay and FPX
- E-vouchers: CashtoCode
Touch 'n Go carries a TOP badge and DuitNow a recommended marker, which is Megapari signaling what most Malaysian players actually use.
BybitPay is the crypto method, and it's worth knowing about for a reason specific to Megapari: this is the only operator we've reviewed where the welcome package still works with a cryptocurrency deposit. We confirmed it with a Litecoin deposit. Every other site in this market disables bonuses on crypto betting entirely.
Minimums, payout speeds, and which of these also work for withdrawals differ enough between Malaysian banking methods that it's worth checking before your first deposit.
Megapari App vs the Website
We used both on the same devices over the same period.
| Feature | Megapari App | Megapari Website |
|---|---|---|
| Login | Fingerprint or face unlock | Username and password each time |
| Storage used | 141 MB installed | None |
| Data usage | Interface cached locally, only odds download | Full page loads each visit |
| Notifications | Push alerts for results and promos | None |
| Layout | Built vertically for phone | Desktop layout scaled down |
| Phishing risk | App connects to the real site every time | Depends on the link you followed |
| Updates | Manual, via a new APK | Automatic |
Where the app clearly wins is the phishing point. Malaysia has a persistent problem with cloned betting sites, and an installed app removes the moment where you might click the wrong search result. That's a bigger practical benefit than the interface improvements.
Where the website wins is updates. A browser always serves the current version. An APK installed outside Play doesn't auto-update through Google, so you'll need to redownload periodically when Megapari ships a new build. Check the version on your loading screen against the download page occasionally.
Megapari App Compared to Other Betting Apps in Malaysia
| App | APK Size | Permissions | Platforms | Sports Welcome Bonus | Best Known For |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Megapari | 55.71 MB | 26 | Android APK, iOS via PWA | Up to RM 1,150 across two deposits | Only welcome package that accepts crypto |
| 1xBet | 48.2 MB | 39 | Android, Windows, Linux | 100% up to RM 760 | Widest market coverage |
| BK8 | 29.7 MB | 16 (5 toggleable) | Android + iOS | 100% up to RM 300 | Smallest install, most permission control |
| 12Play | 102.8 MB | 21 | Android (PWA for iOS) | 150% up to RM 300 | Live betting speed |
| MelBet | Not recorded | Not recorded | Android, iOS, Windows | 100% up to RM 650 | Windows desktop build |
| 888starz | Not recorded | Not recorded | Android + iOS | Up to RM 2,150 across four deposits | Four-stage bonus package |
| Uwin33 | Not recorded | Not recorded | Android only | 150% up to RM 688 | 6% unlimited sports cashback |
We only publish figures we've measured ourselves, which is why several cells read "not recorded." They get filled in as we install each app.
Megapari's position: middle of the pack on size, middle on permissions, and the only app in the list where you can claim the welcome package with cryptocurrency. If that last point doesn't matter to you, BK8's app is lighter and asks for less.
Adding Megapari as a PWA Instead
If you'd rather not install an APK at all, or you're on an iPhone and can't find the app, the Progressive Web App route works and takes almost no storage.
How to add it:
- Open Megapari in your mobile browser
- Tap the Menu or Share icon
- Select "Add to Home Screen"
The Add to Home Screen flow. It creates an app-style icon that opens the site directly, without the 141 MB install.
What you give up: push notifications, biometric login, and the offline caching that keeps data usage down. What you keep: the layout, the full sportsbook and casino, and the same protection against landing on a cloned site, since the shortcut points at the real address every time.
For anyone with limited storage or a shared phone, the PWA is a reasonable trade.
Bonuses You Can Claim in the Megapari App
Everything available on the website works in the app, and the promo code field appears in the same place during registration.
The welcome offers:
- Sports: 100% on your first two deposits, up to RM 500 each. With the promo code MYRMAX, the first deposit maximum rises to RM 650, taking the package to RM 1,150. Turnover is 5x on the bonus in accumulators with three or more selections at 1.40 or higher
- Casino: up to RM 7,160 plus 150 free spins across two deposits, at 35x within 30 days
- Free bet: 15% of your first deposit up to RM 472, needing a four-selection accumulator at 1.60 or higher
You pick one of the three at registration. The code only raises the maximum on the sports offer, and the full breakdown of which code does what sits on our Megapari promo code page.
The promo code store is the ongoing part. You collect points through regular play and trade them for more codes, and the app shows your balance directly in the menu rather than making you open the store to check.
Turnover requirements vary sharply between operators, and how turnover is calculated changes what any of these actually costs to clear.
Security Note
Always download the Megapari APK starting from the official site. The file is served from a third-party domain, which is normal for offshore operators but does mean you can't verify it by source. Check the file size against the 55.71 MB we recorded, and never install a build from an app-store site, forum link, or file-sharing service.
