What Is ShopeePay? (Simple Explanation)
If you're new to ShopeePay, here's the short version: it's a digital wallet built into the Shopee app. You load money into it and then use it to pay for things, either online on Shopee, at physical merchants via QR code, or by transferring money to another ShopeePay user. You can also withdraw your ShopeePay balance to your bank account.
It doesn't require a separate app download. If you have Shopee, you already have ShopeePay. Activating it takes less than two minutes.
The RM 30,000 verified wallet limit, Money+ savings, DuitNow compatibility, and zero-fee withdrawals make ShopeePay a practical fit for online gambling deposits, particularly if you already shop on Shopee.
ShopeePay Accepted Betting Sites in Malaysia
ShopeePay appears on a growing number of Malaysian sportsbook cashier screens
A growing number of Malaysian sports betting sites now accept ShopeePay as a direct deposit method. Where it's listed at the cashier, the process works like any standard ShopeePay merchant payment: fast, PIN-confirmed, and settled instantly.
Megapari is the clearest example we've found, listing ShopeePay alongside Touch 'n Go and DuitNow in the bank transfer group of its cashier. It's also one of the few operators where ShopeePay appears on both the deposit and withdrawal screens.
Minimums, payout speeds and withdrawal availability differ enough between Malaysian banking methods that it's worth comparing before committing to one.

Cashier lineups change without notice, so confirm ShopeePay is still listed before planning a deposit around it. If it isn't, the alternative routes are covered below.
Deposits Are Easy. Check Withdrawals First.
This is the part worth reading before you fund an account, and it applies to every Malaysian e-wallet rather than ShopeePay alone.
Operators support fewer payout methods than deposit methods, and e-wallets are usually the first to be dropped from the withdrawal side. We counted the cashiers at ten sites serving Malaysia and found the pattern at nearly all of them: one listed 51 deposit methods against 24 for withdrawals.
What that means for you: deposit with ShopeePay, win, and your payout may come back through bank transfer instead. That's slower, and it may require documents your deposit didn't.
Two things to do before depositing:
- Open the withdrawal page and confirm ShopeePay is listed there too
- Check whether the operator requires withdrawals through your deposit method until that amount is exhausted, which several do
None of this makes ShopeePay a poor choice for deposits. It means treating it as a deposit method unless you've confirmed otherwise, and knowing the payout route in advance rather than at the moment you want your money.
How to Activate ShopeePay
If you have the Shopee app but haven't activated ShopeePay yet:
- Open the Shopee app
- Tap the ShopeePay icon on the home screen
- Tap Activate Now
- Verify your mobile number via OTP
- Set a 6-digit ShopeePay PIN
- Your ShopeePay account is now active
To unlock the higher limits, complete the e-KYC verification process by uploading a photo of your MyKad and completing a facial recognition scan inside the app. It takes a few minutes, and it's the same document a betting site will ask for at withdrawal, so completing it here is worth doing early either way.
How to Top Up ShopeePay in Malaysia
Top up your ShopeePay account within minutes with several different methods to choose from!
Topping up ShopeePay is straightforward and supports multiple methods:
Via Online Banking (most common):
- Open Shopee and go to ShopeePay
- Tap Top Up
- Select Online Banking
- Choose your bank and enter the amount
- Approve the transaction in your banking app
- Funds appear in ShopeePay instantly
Via Credit or Debit Card:
- Tap Top Up in ShopeePay
- Select Credit/Debit Card
- Enter your card details and amount
- Confirm. Funds are added instantly
Via DuitNow Transfer: You can top up ShopeePay by sending a DuitNow transfer directly to your ShopeePay account using your registered mobile number as the DuitNow ID.
ShopeePay top-up minimum: RM 1. No top-up fees: ShopeePay does not charge for top-ups. Your bank or card issuer may apply its own fees for certain transaction types.
One thing to weigh: topping up by credit card means funding a betting deposit with credit, which is worth avoiding for the same reasons any credit-funded gambling deposit is. Online banking or DuitNow keeps it to money you already hold.
How to Use ShopeePay for Payment
We tested ShopeePay deposits ourselves at Malaysian sportsbooks that list it, and each settled instantly after PIN confirmation. See how we test payment methods and betting sites.
On betting sites and casinos that list ShopeePay
At checkout, select ShopeePay as your payment method and confirm with your PIN. You'll typically be redirected to a ShopeePay confirmation page, then returned to the operator. The balance updates immediately.
At physical merchants
- Open Shopee and tap ShopeePay
- Tap Pay or Scan
- Scan the merchant's DuitNow QR code (or show your personal QR for them to scan)
- Enter the amount and confirm with PIN
- Payment confirmed instantly
ShopeePay is accepted at 7-Eleven, major supermarkets, petrol stations, and millions of DuitNow QR merchants across Malaysia. Use the Deals Near Me feature to find merchants running ShopeePay promotions nearby.
ShopeePay and DuitNow QR
ShopeePay is integrated with DuitNow QR, meaning it works at any merchant displaying a DuitNow QR code regardless of which bank or wallet that merchant originally signed up with. That gives it wide acceptance without needing a ShopeePay-specific terminal.
Whether that extends to betting cashiers is worth testing rather than assuming. Some operators generate a transaction-specific DuitNow QR that a ShopeePay balance can pay; others use a bank-transfer flow that won't accept a wallet. If ShopeePay isn't listed directly at the cashier, try a small amount first before moving anything significant. There are plenty of DuitNow casinos in Malaysia where the direct route works.
ShopeePay Casinos in Malaysia (August 2026)
Several Malaysian casinos accept ShopeePay directly at the cashier
Several online casinos available to Malaysian players accept ShopeePay as a direct payment method, making deposits as straightforward as any other ShopeePay merchant transaction. Where supported, funds settle instantly with no steps beyond your PIN confirmation.

ShopeePay Limits in Malaysia (2026 Update)
ShopeePay raised its verified limits substantially in early 2026, and the current structure is straightforward once you know which tier you're on.
| Limit | Premium+ (e-KYC Verified) |
|---|---|
| Wallet balance | RM 30,000 |
| Per transaction | RM 9,999 |
| Daily transactions | RM 30,000 |
| Monthly transactions | RM 180,000 |
| Annual transactions | RM 360,000 |
Unverified accounts are capped far lower, which makes e-KYC effectively mandatory for anything beyond small everyday payments. Completing it takes a few minutes in the app.
A note on the legacy Premium tier: users who verified under ShopeePay's older system sit at a RM 4,999 wallet limit and can stay there if they prefer. Completing e-KYC upgrades them to the full RM 30,000, and anyone already e-KYC verified before the change was moved across automatically.
The RM 9,999 per-transaction cap is the one that catches people out. Your wallet can hold RM 30,000, but no single payment, transfer, or withdrawal can exceed RM 9,999. Moving more than that means splitting it across multiple transactions, which matters if you're withdrawing a large balance from a betting account into ShopeePay and then out to your bank.
What Is ShopeePay Money+?
Money+ is one of the more interesting features on the platform and something most casual users haven't found yet. Launched with iFAST Capital, Money+ lets you earn daily returns on your ShopeePay balance, starting from as little as RM 10.
Your money is channeled into the Eastspring Investments Islamic E-Duit Fund, a Shariah-compliant money market fund managed by Eastspring Investments. Returns are calculated daily and usually reflected the next working day. You can use your Money+ balance for DuitNow QR payments and Shopee purchases, or withdraw it at any time.
A promotional rate of up to 6% p.a. on the first RM 1,000 ran at launch. Promotional rates expire, so check the current rate in the app rather than assuming the launch figure still applies.
Worth keeping the two purposes separate. Money+ is a place to park cash you're already holding in the wallet, and a money market fund is not a gambling bankroll. If you're moving money between Money+ and a betting account regularly, that's a signal worth noticing rather than a feature to optimize.
Can ShopeePay Transfer to a Bank Account?
Yes. ShopeePay allows withdrawals to your linked Malaysian bank account:
- Go to ShopeePay in the Shopee app
- Tap Withdraw
- Select your linked bank account (add one if not yet linked)
- Enter the amount (maximum RM 9,999 per transaction)
- Confirm with PIN
- Funds typically arrive within 1–3 business days
Withdrawal is free. There are no ShopeePay fees for transferring your balance to a bank account.
This is the route that matters if an operator doesn't pay out to ShopeePay. Your betting winnings come back through bank transfer, and moving them into ShopeePay afterward is a separate step you'd only take if you wanted the balance there.
ShopeePay PayLater
ShopeePay PayLater is a buy-now-pay-later feature available to eligible users, allowing purchases on Shopee to be paid in installments or deferred to the following month. Eligibility depends on your account history and spending, and not all users are approved automatically.
We'd suggest keeping it away from gambling deposits. PayLater is credit, and funding a deposit with credit means betting money you don't currently have and repaying it over the following months regardless of the outcome. Every responsible gambling framework treats borrowing to gamble as a warning sign, whether the credit comes from a card, a loan or a BNPL plan.
ShopeePay Customer Service
If you run into issues with your ShopeePay account:
- In-app Help Center: tap the profile icon, then Help Center, and search your issue. Live chat is available through the same screen for account and payment problems
- ShopeePay Help Portal: covers limits, verification, top-up and withdrawal questions in more detail than the in-app version
Advantages of Using ShopeePay
Where ShopeePay compares well against a card or bank transfer for online payments in Malaysia
- Highest verified wallet limit locally: RM 30,000, above what any other Malaysian e-wallet currently offers.
- No top-up or withdrawal fees: ShopeePay charges nothing for either, unlike some competitors.
- Shopee integration: the smoothest checkout if you already shop there, with in-app deals and vouchers for ShopeePay users.
- DuitNow QR compatibility: works at millions of physical merchants without a ShopeePay-specific terminal.
- Money+ savings feature: daily Shariah-compliant returns on an idle balance from RM 10.
- No separate app needed: everything lives inside the Shopee app you already have.
- Bank Negara licensed: regulated as an approved e-money issuer, the same status as other licensed Malaysian wallets.
- No betting merchant on your bank statement: the transaction runs between your bank and Shopee rather than your bank and an operator.
Where it falls short: the RM 9,999 per-transaction cap, the limited withdrawal support at betting sites, and the fact that ShopeePay appears on fewer cashier screens than Touch 'n Go or DuitNow. We compare all of them on our e-wallets page.
Using ShopeePay Beyond Shopee
Outside Shopee itself, ShopeePay is increasingly accepted at casinos, sportsbooks and third-party merchants in Malaysia. At checkout on a supported platform, select ShopeePay, authenticate with your PIN, and you're returned to the merchant with the payment confirmed.
Where a platform has no direct ShopeePay integration, the workaround depends on the operator's setup rather than on ShopeePay. Test with a small amount before assuming a DuitNow QR route will accept a wallet balance.
ShopeePay Malaysia Conclusion: Where the E-Wallet Is Heading
ShopeePay's direction in Malaysia points upward. The verified limit increase in early 2026, the launch of Money+, and expanding acceptance across online platforms all suggest a platform maturing quickly, and it's closing the gap with GrabPay, DuitNow, and Boost.
With Bank Negara Malaysia continuing to push digital payment adoption, and Shopee holding a strong position in Malaysian e-commerce, ShopeePay is well placed to become one of the country's default payment methods rather than just a shopping wallet.
For betting specifically, the practical position today: excellent for deposits where operators list it, limited on withdrawals, and best paired with a second method for payouts.
