E-Wallets in Malaysia: Most common local options for online betting and casino play
E-wallets are often referred to as digital wallets or mobile wallets nowadays. They are simply online services, electronic devices, or software programs that allow you to make electronic transactions.
There are a ton of options to choose from in Malaysia, so be sure to find one that suits your needs. KYC requirements at signup vary widely. The two most popular e-wallets in Malaysia for online gambling are Touch 'n Go and GrabPay, and both are already part of Malaysians' everyday lives.
Not everything on this page is technically an e-wallet, and the difference matters at the cashier. Touch 'n Go, GrabPay, Boost, ShopeePay and MAE are true e-wallets: you hold a balance in them. DuitNow is a payment network that connects banks and wallets rather than a wallet itself. EeziePay, Help2Pay and TruePay are payment gateways that route your bank transfer to the operator. Credit and debit cards and bank transfers still handle a large share of deposits at Malaysian betting sites, but e-wallets have taken over the fast, small-deposit end of the market, which is where most betting activity sits. Deposits Are the Easy Part. Check Withdrawals First.
This is the single most useful thing we can tell you about e-wallets and betting sites, and almost no page covers it.
Many e-wallets appear on deposit screens and not on withdrawal screens. We counted the cashiers at ten operators and found the gap at nearly all of them: one site listed 51 deposit methods and only 24 for withdrawals. GrabPay and Boost in particular were absent from withdrawal lists at several operators where they worked fine for deposits.
What that means in practice: you deposit with GrabPay, win, and your money comes back through bank transfer instead, which is slower and may need documents the wallet didn't.
Two things to do before your first deposit:
- Open the withdrawal page and confirm your chosen method appears there too
- Note whether the operator requires withdrawals through the same method you deposited with, which several do until the deposit amount is exhausted
Payout speeds, minimums and withdrawal availability differ enough between Malaysian banking methods that thirty seconds now saves a slow payout later.

These are the methods most Malaysian players actually use, and the ones that appear on nearly every cashier screen.
Touch 'n Go Malaysia
True e-wallet
Touch 'n Go is the most widely used e-wallet in Malaysia, and the one we found on more cashier screens than any other local method. It's easy to top up and use for everyday payments, and its deposits were consistently the fastest route in our own testing, often credited before we'd navigated back to the lobby.
Touch 'n Go launched as a transit card in 1997, and the e-wallet arrived in 2017. TnG reports over 22 million monthly active users in Malaysia. Players can choose widely between Touch 'n Go casinos and bookmakers when using this e-wallet as a payment option.
Worth knowing: several operators attach a deposit bonus badge to TnG specifically, usually 10% to 20% on top of the deposit. Those carry their own conditions separate from the welcome bonus.
GrabPay Malaysia
True e-wallet
GrabPay is one of the most popular e-wallets in Southeast Asia, especially in Malaysia, where it's used for food delivery, online shopping, and local retail. Many betting sites offer GrabPay among their e-wallet options, and the GrabPay casinos and betting sites we've checked usually pair it with a bonus.

Boost Malaysia
True e-wallet, now also a digital bank
Boost is a popular e-wallet in Malaysia for online gambling, and many sites accept it for deposits. Transactions are fast and confirmed with biometrics or a PIN on your device.

Boost offers rewards and cashback through its BoostUP program, and since 2024 it has operated a licensed digital bank alongside the wallet. Shopee is a Singaporean company founded in 2015, and ShopeePay is its built-in wallet, sitting alongside services like SPayLater, SLoan and QuickFunds. It's widely used across Southeast Asia and particularly in Malaysia.

One thing that catches people out: because a gateway sits between you and the operator, some bonus terms name the gateway rather than your bank, so check which one the terms refer to before assuming your deposit qualifies.

Neteller Malaysia

Skrill was founded in 2001 in London, where it still has its headquarters. Like Neteller, it's part of Paysafe, operating in over 100 countries with a wallet available in more than 40 currencies. Skrill funds can be used to deposit at betting sites, and you can withdraw back to the Skrill account wherever the operator supports it.

A note on PayPal: PayPal restricts gambling transactions in markets where it isn't specifically licensed for them, and we haven't been able to complete a gambling deposit with it from Malaysia. If a cashier lists it, treat it as worth testing with a small amount first.

Three things worth checking before you fund the account:
