We opened SABA Esports to see what the coverage actually looks like in practice, and the numbers hold up. 140 events were live across nine games: League of Legends (36), Valorant (28), CS2 (19), Dota 2 (16), Mobile Legends (8), PUBG (7), Call of Duty (7), King of Glory (6), and Rainbow Six (2). The presence of both Mobile Legends and King of Glory betting markets matters specifically for Malaysians, since they're the mobile MOBAs that players actually follow, and plenty of international sportsbooks skip them entirely.
Esports betting markets per match are where it gets interesting on 12Play. The interface itself is well built. Arcade Games
The Arcade section is small but distinct from everything else on 12Play, with three casino games, none of them slots or live games. Two are crash games: Aviator and Aviatrix, both of which are heavily played in Malaysia and work on the same principle, where a multiplier climbs until the plane flies off and you either cashed out in time or you didn't. The third is SG Fishing, which is a different genre entirely.

Fishing games deserve a word for anyone who hasn't come across them, since they're popular across Southeast Asia and almost invisible in Western casinos. Rather than spinning reels, you aim a cannon at fish moving across an underwater scene and shoot them for points, with different creatures worth different multipliers. 12Play's version runs on Spadegaming, and it has three stake tiers: Junior for the lowest limits, Expert in the middle, and Godlike at the top, so you can set the risk level before you start rather than adjusting bet size mid-game.

Two practical things we'd flag. First, 12Play adds a 10% bonus on 4D winnings and a 10% cash rebate on total 4D turnover, which is the highest rebate rate across any of its product categories, comfortably above the 1% to 1.2% on sports, slots, and live casino. Second, and easy to miss: the 4D wallet is locked between 7 pm and 9 pm (GMT+8) during the draw window, so you can't move funds in or out of it during that period. Plan around it if you're topping up close to a draw.

Licensing is where this gets more complicated than it looks. 12Play is regulated by the Government of Montenegro and operates under the jurisdiction of E-Gambling Montenegro. The brand is registered as a business entity in St Julian's, Malta, a common address for igaming companies, but that's a corporate registration, not a Maltese gambling license. 12Play does not hold an MGA license, and we'd flag that clearly because a Malta address in an operator's footer is easily misread as MGA oversight.
Montenegro is a considerably less-established gambling jurisdiction than Curaçao, Kahnawake, or the MGA. We don't have enough independent information about its oversight standards, dispute resolution, or player protection requirements to characterize it confidently either way. If licensing quality matters to your decision, treat this as something to research yourself rather than take our word — or 12Play's — for it.
Now, should you play on 12Play considering it holds no Malaysian licence?
No offshore operator holds one, because Malaysia doesn't issue them. That's the same position every site serving this market is in, so the license question is really about which foreign regulator oversees the operator, and here that's a lightly-documented one.
But is it legal to play on 12Play in Malaysia?
Malaysia restricts gambling through the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953 and the Betting Act 1953, both written long before online betting existed. How those laws apply to an individual using an offshore site remains a grey area rather than a settled question. What we noticed most is that the homepage does the work of a menu. Recently Played sits at the top so you land back where you left off, and beneath it the Live Casino, Slots, and other categories run as horizontal rows you scroll through rather than pages you navigate to. The sidebar menu carries the same sections vertically, so there are two routes to everything, which are useful once you know your way around, and the reason we found ourselves clicking less on 12Play than on the denser platforms we've reviewed.
12Play Compared with Others
Against the other operators we've reviewed for this market, 12Play's position is specific rather than general.
On esports, it leads. Four providers is more than 22Bet, 1xBet, or BK8 carry, and the market depth across Dota 2, CS2, and Mobile Legends reflects that.
On free credits, nothing else we've reviewed matches two separate no-strings offers totaling RM 34 at 1x turnover.
On licensing, it's the weakest of the group. BK8's Anjouan license and 22Bet's Curaçao and Kahnawake licenses are both better documented than Montenegro's framework.
